EXPERIENCE

Subaru of Indiana Automotive | Process Engineer | Data Analysist | IIoT and 3D Printing Lead Engineer
March 2018 - Present

-
Design facility-type projects based on production and safety requests: anti-freeze resin silo cap, Blanking press expanded metal fencing add-on, air-tight enclosure for reducing ambient oil effects on radio repeaters, bumper inspection jig for more accurate visual analysis among multiple departments
-
Develop and implement a Quality Tracking System (QTS) throughout the Stamping department, consisting of creating logical architectures, establishing a production-friendly user interface between metal and injection fields, and leading cross-functional teams among Production, Maintenance, IS, and Engineering
-
Establish formal report documents for conveying Pareto information and trendlines from the QTS database, involving Pivot Tables and Power BI reporting functions; convey mitigation and contingency efforts to both production and engineering based on analyzed data
-
Spearhead both the 3D modeling development and IIoT initiative within the Manufacturing Engineering department, bringing innovative technology to production and engineering, along with utilizing Statasys, Universe, 3DS, and Markforged 3D printers for Stamping and other department's prototypes

Brad Foote Gearing | Gearbox Project Coordinator
Summer 2017 Internship

-
Managed and developed templates to track cost matrix, lead times, and purchases along with multiple Gantt charts for 7 New Product Introduction projects and 11 projects overall; to gather this information I collaborated with vendors and the design engineer to quote and purchase long lead time items
-
Implemented different functions to existing templates that had a potential cost avoidance of $128,823 and a lead time of 16 weeks by utilizing conditional formatting and matrices
-
Influenced a Kaizen event action plan with activities such as: a current and future state process map of the upfront process, a value stream map of NPIs, 5s methodology applied to the T: Drive, and an A3 report, and presented to the executive board with suggestions to the overall design and inside sales process

ArcelorMittal | Assistant Mechanical Engineer
Summer 2015 Internship

-
Improved segment rolls for the casters and designed protective heat covers for bearings, ultimately resulting in proprietary life expansion of critical machinery
-
Recorded the plant air and compressed air pipe line for caster in order to reduce the cost of external plant air
-
Collaborated with contractors on a CSI pipe project and utilized a root cause analysis approach to analyze the source of failure and repair a 20” spray water line during a downturn
-
Presented delay data to the steel producing department and proposed a focus on specific maintenance issues for future Capital projects and preventive planning
-
Participated in a generational divide workshop and analyzed the issues of age gap in the industry

Berry Plastics | Project Engineer
Summer 2016 Internship

-
Took part in the implementation of a Kaizen event for the molding department while creating a fishbone diagram, executing 5S methodology, and attending daily preventative maintenance meetings
-
Performed Finite Element Analysis on a mold anchor part and determined that the FOS and stresses were inadequate for the needed support, thus redesigning the part using the results from the simulation
-
Calculated and reported the financial status of light fixtures in the plant and met with multiple consultants to discuss options, ultimately saving the company $50,000 a year in energy costs alone by switching to LEDs
-
Designed a frame attachment for a mold cart in the thermoforming line to eliminate the need for fall protection and reduced the amount of safety hazards in an operation

Grand Summer Challenge | Co-project Manager
Summer 2014 Research Program

-
Designed and constructed a product to manufacture plastic building materials for homes in Haiti
-
Organized and scheduled meetings, documents, and multiple Gantt charts for the program
-
Addressed multiple news agencies in interviews and a press conference about our project
-
Acquired motivational, transformational, and situational leadership skills, and project management experience
